“Conceived by the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC), the Staten Island Film Festival (SINY Film Festival) held it’s first 4-day festival in 2006. The SIEDC came up with this idea to help foster an artistic atmosphere on Staten Island as part of a strategy to draw visitors from New York’s other four boroughs and New Jersey. Festival-goers could be introduced in what Staten Island has to offer.”
