CNN: Atlantic season’s 1st tropical storm forms near Belize | May 31, 2008
“MIAMI, Florida (CNN) — Tropical Storm Arthur, the first named storm of the 2008 Atlantic season, formed Saturday near the coast of Belize but was already over land and was expected to weaken later in the day, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.”
More often than not we here in New Jersey get rainy spin-off from tropical storms and hurricanes, in fact if anyone remembers Hurricane Floyd (1999), it did considerable flood damage in the NJ / NYC area - let’s just say I remember being thankful I live on the second floor LOL
…but we DO get the odd hurricane and in fact we get tornadoes from time to time but nothing like down south where I grew up or Oklahoma - AKA “Tornado Alley“.
In any case, a location scout’s duty is to mind the weather, so the fact that Hurricane Season has begun is duly noted.
over and out.
