Associated Press | Miami Herald | COLOMBIA | Cartagena regaining its former cinematic luster | This historic port city, which once claimed to be the filmmaking center of the Caribbean, looks to rebuild its cinema and tourism industries. | BY JOSHUA GOODMAN / Associated Press | Posted on Sun, Jan. 07, 2007 | (article offline)
“CARTAGENA, Colombia - Even if you’re not a location scout, it’s difficult not to become entranced by the timeless beauty of this Caribbean port’s heavy-stone ramparts and trove of Spanish colonial architecture.”
I have never been to Colombia. It sounds beautiful and mysterious. I used to live in South Florida and now live in a different gateway area, New Jersey, near New York City, so I have many friends of Colombian descent and other countries around South America.
In any case it is nice to see Colombia get some different press than crime stories about cocaine cowboys.
